Israeli intelligence suggests that Iran is preparing an attack on Israel form Iraqi territory in the coming days, possibly before the U.S. presidential elections on November 5.
The attack is expected to be launched from Iraq using a large number of drones and ballistic missiles. The report further indicates that carrying out the attack through pro-Iranian militias in Iraq may be Tehran`s attempt to avoid another Israeli strike against strategic targets within Iran.
Israel and Iran are exchanging attacks as part of a broader state of conflict in the Middle East, fuelled by the war in Gaza. On Saturday, Israeli military planes targeted missile manufacturing facilities and other sites near Tehran and in western Iran in retaliation for an October 1 attack on Israel involving 200 missiles.
An Iranian Foreign Minister spokesperson stated on Monday that Tehran will use all available tools to respond to Israeli attacks.
