First phase of the agreement: Hamas handed over three Israeli hostages to the Red Cross

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over three Israeli hostages to a Red Cross team as part of the first phase of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement reached with Israel.

The Red Cross team took custody of the Israeli hostages at Saraya Square in Gaza City.

Thousands of Palestinians followed the hostage handover operation, during which members of the Al-Qassam Brigades were militarily equipped.

The Red Cross announced that three Israeli hostages were handed over to them and are on their way to Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.

The ceasefire agreement in Gaza came into effect on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. local time (10:15 CET) after several hours of delay due to Israeli accusations against Hamas for postponing the release of the list of prisoners scheduled to be freed.
