Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have recently noticed an increased number of EUFOR helicopter flyovers, which has raised numerous inquiries and concerns.
However, EUFOR explains that these are routine exercises within the framework of Operation “Althea,” which are part of the regular training program for pilots and crews.
“These exercises allow our pilots to maintain high readiness and be capable of assisting the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in emergency situations, even in the most challenging conditions,” stated EUFOR.
The flyovers observed by citizens are conducted by the Romanian Air Force, which has taken over the air component of the EUFOR operation. They are using IAR 330 Puma transport helicopters, and the flights are part of their adjustment to the specific flight conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as reported by the portal Crna-Hronika.
Thus, these activities are being carried out to acquire operational capabilities across the entire territory of the country. As a result, the flyovers have become more intense and frequent recently.
