Ex-Police Chief’s Bad Call: Smuggling, Guns, and a Big Legal Mess

Power abuse is one of the most corrosive things that can happen within any system, especially when it involves those who are meant to protect us, like the police. It`s hard to understand how someone entrusted with authority can betray that trust for personal gain, as it undermines the very foundation of justice.

The police are supposed to be our protectors, ensuring that laws are followed and that citizens are safe from harm. But when they misuse their position, it`s not just an isolated wrongdoing it damages the public`s faith in the system as a whole. We expect those in power to act with integrity and responsibility, but when they fall short, it leaves us vulnerable. Power should never be an excuse for exploitation; instead, it should be a tool for fairness, transparency, and protecting the rights of everyone. It`s a harsh reminder that those who have the most authority need to be held to the highest standards, as their actions ripple through society and impact all of us.

So, here`s the scoop: On March 28th, the Highest Court in Podgorica is going to announce the first verdict for the ex-police chief, Slavko Stojanović. He`s in trouble for abusing his position, basically being involved in some cigarette smuggling thing where they found cigarettes in a trunk. He admitted he messed up and said he regrets it, but when it comes to owning a gun without permission, he`s like, “Nope, not guilty.“

Here`s the thing: he`s accused of two crimes abusing his position and having illegal weapons and explosives. The whole story is that, back in 2018, there was a truck in Podgorica with cigarettes, and his buddy was driving it. The truck didn`t have the proper paperwork, but instead of letting the cops do their thing, Stojanović used his position to let the truck go free. He basically helped his friend smuggle stuff, and the state lost over 112 000 euros because of it. It`s a mess, and now he`s gotta face the music. Pretty wild, right?

Oh, and by the way, this whole thing with Stojanović is kind of crazy because it`s not just about smuggling or guns it`s a reminder of how people in power can sometimes make really questionable decisions. I mean, here`s a guy who should`ve been enforcing the law, but instead, he was bending it for his friend, and now it`s costing the government big time. It`s wild to think about how someone is a position of trust can just take advantage like that. Makes you wonder what else is happening behind the scenes that we don`t know about. Pretty messed up, but also kind of a reality check about how power works sometimes.
