Dodik: Interpol rejected the request of the Court of BiH to issue an international warrant for me and Stevandić

The General Secretariat of Interpol has rejected Bosnia and Herzegovina’s request to issue an international warrant for fugitives from the BiH judiciary, Milorad Dodik and Nenad Stevandić.

The information that Interpol refused to issue the international warrant was announced on his X account by the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

Some media outlets report that Interpol stated the request was rejected based on Article 3 of Interpol’s statute, which prohibits political persecution.

“President Aleksandar Vučić just called me to inform me that he received a notification from Interpol’s Directorate stating that Serbia’s appeal was accepted and that Interpol rejected the request of the Court of BiH to issue a red notice for Stevandić and me. Thank you to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, for his support and for his clear and principled communication with Interpol. Thanks also to President Orbán and the presidents of all other countries that submitted appeals, understanding the political background of the judicial persecution I am facing,” wrote Dodik.

Following these reports, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated that they have not received official information that Interpol has rejected their request.
As a reminder, on March 27, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested Interpol to issue an international warrant for Dodik and Stevandić, as they had left the country at a time when a domestic warrant had been issued for them.

Serbia and Hungary then submitted objections to this request.
