“We want to give a chance to dialogue and an agreement between the three peoples. I’m calling for an agreement even now. However we agree—that’s how it will be for us. Not for someone else,” said Dodik.
“Frequently returning to the fundamental principles of the constitution is absolutely necessary to preserve the blessings of liberty,” are the words of Benjamin Franklin. A return to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only guarantee of its survival and functioning,” wrote Milorad Dodik, President of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska and a fugitive from the Bosnian judiciary, on his X account.
“However, if Mrs. Kallas believes that the constitutional order is what was imposed by Christian Schmidt, then we don’t understand each other. That constitutional order is written in Annex 4 of the Dayton Agreement. It was Schmidt himself who dismantled that constitutional order with his interventions, and for years now, every High Representative has undermined the foundations of constitutionality. Republika Srpska, and I as its president, have always defended the Constitution,” stated Dodik.
Dodik also stated that “it is naive to believe that injustice can be resolved simply by pointing it out.”
“The only solution lies in nullifying the voluntarism of Christian Schmidt and all the decisions he has imposed. In that case, Republika Srpska is ready to freeze, for a certain period, the laws recently adopted in the National Assembly. We want to give a chance to dialogue and to an agreement among the three peoples. I am calling for an agreement even now. However we agree, that’s how it will be for us—not for someone else,” Dodik concluded.
