Dragan Čović, the president of HDZ BiH, stated that “there is no possibility” for the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, to resolve the crisis in our country.
He also said that “it seems that no one appointed Schmidt,” thereby (in)directly supporting SNSD once again, whose members have for years claimed that Schmidt is a “false High Representative.”
There is no possibility, what are we even doing here then? Let them call Schmidt and have him appoint everything, there are state laws and the Constitution. Let Schmidt pass the laws, why do we need elections, the Council of Ministers, or the Parliament, said Čović.
He then added once again that “there is no possibility for him to intervene.”
We all need to strive for BiH to be a normal country. Don’t call for any impositions, he said.
He emphasized that during his last conversation with Schmidt, he stated that “we do not want any impositions.”
We cannot open European processes while having governing structures outside the Constitution, Čović said.
He noted that he believes BiH will succeed on its European path.
I think we will adopt two European laws on Thursday, he emphasized.
