Around one hundred pensioners gathered on Saturday, May 31, in Tuzla for a protest march to draw attention to the difficult financial situation they are facing.
They carried banners and messages directed at the authorities, clearly emphasizing that pensions are too low and insufficient to cover basic living expenses. In addition to demanding an increase in pensions, they are also calling for amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, with a particular focus on the need for regular and extraordinary pension adjustments throughout the year, due to the constant rise in the cost of living.
These protests are part of regular monthly gatherings by pensioners, aimed at raising awareness among the public and relevant institutions about the hardships they face. “We are not asking for luxury, we are asking for dignity,” the protesters said, announcing that they will not give up until their demands are taken seriously.
