The President of the Republika Srpska entity and fugitive from the BiH judiciary, Milorad Dodik, stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina will not sign any agreement on accepting migrants. He cited as the reason the opposition of the Republika Srpska entity, which he leads, according to Anadolu Agency.
“For us, that is unacceptable. It was clear to us when the UK Foreign Secretary (David Lammy) came to Sarajevo that this was the main issue. No support for Bosnia, no support for democratic processes — the main point was to gauge the atmosphere,” Dodik said in Banja Luka, according to RTRS.
“If they want to settle them illegally in the Federation of BiH,” he said, “that’s their problem.”
Dodik recalled that during the migrant crisis, Republika Srpska did not allow migrants to be present in the territory of that entity in BiH.
“We said they are not welcome here and ensured their swift passage. There is no reason to change our approach, regardless of what we now hear from the British Prime Minister, who never misses a chance to say that BiH should accept their delinquent migrants,” Dodik said, adding that “they would keep the good ones for themselves and send us the bad ones — the quasi-criminals and criminals — so that we would have to deal with them, and then they would constantly say we are an unstable region.”
