Cvijanović defends Vučić and attacks Bećirović: You are not authorized to represent the views of BiH

The Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, lashed out at her colleague and member of the Presidency, Denis Bećirović.

She told him that he is not authorized to represent the views of BiH. Cvijanović pointed out that this responsibility lies with the Presidency of BiH, and only when the views of all three members of the Presidency are included in that position.

“Furthermore, Bećirović is neither authorized nor invited to interpret the views of Republika Srpska, and the institutions and citizens of Republika Srpska, which makes up 49 percent of the territory of BiH, feel threatened by the constant efforts of political Sarajevo to privatize the joint institutions of BiH and impose the views and desires of Bosniak politicians on the representatives of other nations,” Cvijanović emphasized.

When asked to comment on Bećirović’s statement, in which he, among other things, said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is not authorized to interpret the laws of BiH, Cvijanović responded that it is utterly disgraceful that, on a day when Serbia and Republika Srpska commemorate the suffering of hundreds of thousands of victims in the Jasenovac death camp—of whom the majority were Serbs—Bećirović, the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH, as one of the three members, believes he has the right to comment on the position of Republika Srpska, while neither the President of Republika Srpska nor the President of Serbia has that right.

“This is yet another example of who is suffocating BiH,” Cvijanović concluded.
