The OIC, at its session in Istanbul, adopted a Declaration condemning the policies of the leadership of Republika Srpska and expressing support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina

At the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Istanbul, a Declaration was adopted in which the behavior of the leadership of the Republika Srpska was clearly condemned, and support was expressed for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We express deep concern over the destructive policies pursued by the leadership of the Republika Srpska, which has exerted excessive pressure on the judicial system and institutions, thereby undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and posing a serious threat to the foundations of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We call on all international partners to cooperate in ensuring the respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the adopted Declaration states.

The Istanbul Declaration was adopted with strong support from Turkish diplomacy, and it was further reinforced by a special Resolution on Bosnia and Herzegovina — a document that the OIC has regularly adopted in recent years.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is the second-largest international organization after the United Nations, bringing together 57 member states. It was established in 1969 at a summit in Morocco.
