Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today criticized the lack of response from Muslim countries in addressing the ongoing genocide in Gaza. He also accused Western nations of giving full support to Israel.
A joint emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League has been held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The main topic is the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
More that 50 leaders from the Arab and Islamic countries, including Turkish President Erdogan, are participating in the summit.
The situation has reached this level because Muslim countries have failed in their responses, while a handful of Western nations have helped Israel in every way – Erdogan stated in his address at the summit.
He added that Turkey has already sent more than 84 000 tons of aid and it is prepared to send much more once restrictions are lifted.
Accusing Israel of being unable to tolerate even the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, Erdogan stated that aid supplies have been waiting for months to enter Gaza from Egypt.
We are ready to implement all concrete and realistic proposals that will make the Netanyahu administration feel the real consequences of occupying Palestinian land. More countries should be encouraged to join the case that South Africa has initiated against Israel at the International Court of Justice – Erdogan stated.
Highlighting the horrific consequences of Israeli attacks, Erdogan said that more than 50 000 people have been killed in these massacres in Gaza and throughout Palestine, with 70 percent of them being women and children.
