UAE President`s Historic Visit to Albania – Key Agreements Signed

For the first time in history, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Albania on an official visit, marking a significant milestone in the bilateral relations between the two nations. He was welcomed with full state honours at Rinas Airport by Prime Minister Edi Rama, followed by an official ceremony at the Palace of Brigades in Tirana.
In a warm and diplomatic atmosphere, President Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Rama held a one-on-one meeting to discuss the expansion of economic cooperation and strategic investments in Albania.
The highlight of this visit was the signing of key agreements aimed at fostering developments in vital sectors such as energy, technology, and infrastructure. In the presence of high-ranking officials, the following collaborations were formalized:

  • The Framework Agreement for Action between Masdar, TAQA, KESH, and OST, exchanged between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, and the Chairman of Masdar, Sultan Al Jaber. This agreement focuses on developing new projects in the field of renewable energy.
  • The Letter of Commitment for the “Albania Smart City” Project, signed between Presight AI Ltd and the Ministry of the Interior of Albania. This initiative aims to implement smart technologies in Albanian cities, ushering in a new era of digital transformation and innovation.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Rama emphasized the importance of these partnerships in modernizing the country and strengthening relations with the UAE. “These projects will bring substantial investments, create new job opportunities, and transform Albania’s technological and energy landscape,” he stated.
President Al Nahyan’s visit marks a new chapter in the relationship between Albania and the United Arab Emirates, paving the way for increased investments and sustainable development. With a strategic and ambitious vision, both nations are building a strong partnership for the future.
